LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Jealousy and immaturity led to meanness in writing

Most guys grow up wanting to be a good looking high school quarterback with a 4.0 average. Most don't make it.

The majority of guys adjust to being fairly good-looking and better than most on some playing field and in a few classrooms.

Some go 0-and-three in looks, brains and athletic ability and write venomous and embarrassing editorials like "Suggestions for stellar scene setting," (July 10) which bashed LaVar Arrington, Ki-Jana Carter and Anthony Morelli.

You can't cure jealousy, insecurity and meanness. The guy who wrote this? He's one of those guys who walks to class with an O or M on his cap -- the only way to get any attention on a large campus.

One of the great things about this country is that the people with personality disorders are allowed to express opinions -- regardless of the level of hostility.
