Redeem our football pride with maroon and orange

There is no question that Penn State football has had some embarrassing moments over this past season -- with both players and fans. While we can't control the actions of our players or our fellow students throwing beer cans at opposing fans, we can control our own individual actions and do our part to give our school the good reputation it deserves.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of the horrific shootings at Virginia Tech. One year ago this weekend, we showed our love and support for everyone at VT as 70,000 fans packed Beaver Stadium wearing the Hokie colors. Let's show the community at VT that they are still in our thoughts by taking our maroon-and-orange shirts out of our closets and wearing them to the Blue-White game again this year.

Saturday is great opportunity where we can not only do the right thing for all of those affected by the shootings, but also re-establish ourselves as classy fans and caring human beings.
