Commonwealths to have elections
The Council of Commonwealth Student Governments (CCSG) will hold elections this weekend, with voting culminating on Saturday in HUB Alumni Hall.
Members of CCSG will elect a new president, vice president, two student activity fee representatives and a campus chairperson, said Nick Tates, the election's committee chairman.
Presidential and vice presidential candidates are as follows: Mark Anthony Burnett II/Matthew Boyd; George Khoury/John McLucas; and Kathryn Mattes/Raffi Astourian. Mohammed Raouda will run for the campus chairperson position. As of yesterday, no one was running for the student activity fee representative seats.
Candidates declared their intent to run at the last council weekend, Tates said, but students can also decide to run as late as Friday, so long as a member of council nominates them.
Debates will take place at 8 p.m. Friday in 302 HUB-Robeson Center. General questioning of candidates will take place Saturday morning and afternoon, followed by voting.
