In response to Mr. Poterjoy's letter concerning the student ticket allotment ("Fill up the student section before you try to enlarge it," April 3), I must point out that there are numerous issues that contribute to the student section's appearance at the beginning of games.
My concern is how long it takes to enter Gate "A". I have entered games before at the general admission gates and never had nearly as many issues. I understand that near game time there is always going to be a line, but I think there is an easier way to at least decrease the bottleneck that occurs. Put a TV camera on the entrances to the student section, and you can see why the top half of the stadium looks empty.
Some people may say you should just enter the game earlier. Some may say that if you want to enjoy the game, camp out and get front row. To me, I'd rather spend my day prior to the game tailgating, a family affair for me, than sit outside Gate A for hours. I like to enjoy the whole Penn State football experience.
