Student hit while on Beaver Avenue

A 19-year-old Penn State student was hit by an unknown man while walking on the 300 block of East Beaver Avenue at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the State College Police Department said. The victim sought medical treatment for a large lump on his forehead and a laceration below his right eye. Police said there are no suspects.

Man charged for attempted trespass

A State College resident was charged with criminal attempted trespass and loitering and prowling on allegations that he tried to enter a locked apartment, the State College Police Department said.

The resident of the 125 W. Park Ave. apartment stated in a criminal complaint that she heard a key being put in the lock of her door at 8:35 p.m. Saturday. She looked through the keyhole to see Sadrick Vil, a resident in the same apartment building, standing outside her door. Vil told the resident he was trying to use his keys to open the door to get ice, according to court documents.

A short time later, the victim saw Vil fleeing the apartment building, police said. Police apprehended him on the 700 block of North Allen Street, according to court documents.

Vil, 21, was charged with one count of criminal attempted trespass and one count of loitering and prowling at night. He was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and placed in Centre County Prison in lieu of $5,000 straight bail.

Student harassed by people on porch

A State College resident was charged with burglary and criminal trespass; police say he forced his way into an apartment and assaulted a resident.

The victim, a 21-year-old Penn State student, reported that he heard people on his porch at 2:40 Sunday morning, the State College Police Department said. When he opened the door to tell them to go away, police said Gregory Maynard pushed his way inside and punched the victim in the face. Police said alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Maynard was charged with one count each of burglary and criminal trespass, both felonies, and a summary charge of harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Females assault student at nightclub

The State College Police Department is investigating a weekend assault at Indigo nightclub, 112 W. College Ave.

The victim, a 28-year-old Penn State student, told police she was attacked by at least two female assailants at the bar at about 2:30 Sunday morning. Bar staff reported they watched the victim push an assailant, who pushed her back, according to court documents. When the victim fell on the floor, another female assailant climbed on her back and began pulling her hair, police said.

The victim was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center for lower back pain. No charges have been filed.

Man charged for assaulting girlfriend

A State College man faces charges after a domestic violence incident in a Waupelani Drive apartment yesterday, the State College Police Department said.

Police said Russell R. Snare, 23, grabbed and punched his girlfriend 15 to 20 times, choked her, bit her in at least nine locations and took a 9-inch steak knife and held it to her throat, threatening to kill her. She was later able to free herself and call police.

Snare was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, one count of terroristic threats, one count of reckless endangerment and two summary charges of harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and sent to Centre County Prison in lieu of $50,000 straight bail.

Theft: At 6 p.m. Saturday, a student reported his jacket, iPod and cell phone were taken from a locker at Rec Hall, Penn State Police said. The total value of the loss is estimated at $482.

Theft: At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, a student reported the theft of his secured bicycle from the HUB-Robeson Center, Penn State Police said. The total value of the loss is $1,484.
