Men's tennis upsets Alabama

The No. 65 Penn State men's tennis team defeated No. 21 Alabama 4-3 during the first round of Thursday's Blue/Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala.

The Crimson Tide (11-5, 3-1 SEC) are the highest-ranked opponent the Lions have defeated this season. With the victory, the Nittany Lions (5-5, 1-0 Big Ten) improve to .500 overall. The team has now won back-to-back matches for the first time since Jan. 26th.

With the victory, the Lions advance to the Blue/Gray quarterfinals and will take on the winner of Thursday's Oklahoma-Boise State game at noon Friday.
