LETTER TO THE EDITOR

During spring break, don't forget Gaza Strip

As thousands of Penn Staters ready to blast off for spring break, the people of Gaza continue to suffer because of our government's unconditional support of Israel.

Israel's deputy defense minister, Matan Vilnai, declared a "bigger holocaust" against the people of Gaza, where more than 125 people have been killed in the last few days. According to B'tselem, an Israeli human rights group, most of the dead are civilians, while the Israeli casualties consist of three deaths, a ratio of about 42 to one.

I encourage all students to do research about the situation and refer to the human rights' reports. As Penn State students look forward to their upcoming spring break, the people of Gaza will be busy burying their loved ones, a large number of them being children.

Our silence about the issue and the media's failure to report the crisis indicates complicity in the war crimes being committed there.
