Other Penn State closings should translate to UPark

As soon as I stepped outside yesterday morning I started to loathe the snow. Penn State is rarely successful with clearing the sidewalks and streets to perfection, and I can accept that. This is a huge campus and it would be difficult to keep the entire place plowed and shoveled for the entirety of the day. However, yesterday was beyond disappointing.

As I walked home around 3 p.m. it was as if I were carving the first path through the Appalachian Trail; I was walking through about six to eight inches of snow on sidewalks. The plow on the street was also plowing onto the sidewalks, thus causing me to get doused with snow and have to continue my walk home through mush, slush and an additional inch or two.

Now, I'm not asking for perfection, I'm just pointing out that when classes are not canceled on a day of substantial snowfall (like they were at some Commonwealth campuses), the walkways and roads should make class accessible for all students.
