Penn State's Rhonda Belue will be speaking about "Addressing the Increasing Prevalence of Metabolic Disorders in West Africa: A Review and Potential Intervention Strategies," at noon today in 216 Willard Building. Africana Research Center + Alliance for Earth Sciences, Engineering and Development in Africa will host the event.

"Introduction to Furnace Glass Blowing" will be shown at 12:15 p.m. today in 105 Deike Building.

Alicia Soderberg of Princeton University will speak about "A Radio View of the Connection between Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) and Supernovae (SNe)" at 4 p.m. today in 538 Davey Laboratory.

The Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences's James Endres Howell will host the University of California's Jennifer Manilay today at 4 p.m. in 101 Agricultural Sciences and Industries Building. The speech is titled "Potential Roles of the CXCR6 Receptor and Its Ligand CXCL16 in Early T-Cell Development."

Wayne State University's Jeffrey Loeb will be speaking about "Redefining Epilepsy Through the Eyes of the Human Epileptic Transcriptome" at 4 p.m. today in 108 Wartik Laboratory. Steven Schiff of the Penn State Neuroscience Institute will host the lecture.

Lori Ginzberg will be speaking at the Women's Studies Forum about "Living Large: Tackling the Life and Thought of Elizabeth Cady Stanton" at 3:30 p.m. today in 118 Willard.
