Campus Notes

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in Kunkle Lounge in Hammond Building. The College of Engineering, Society of Women Engineers and engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi will sponsor the event.

Health Promotion and Wellness will sponsor an event titled "Don't Get Caught Dirty Handed" from 4 to 7 p.m. today in Johnston Commons, East Halls. The event is open to all students.

Penn State's J. Luis Morales will speak at 9 a.m. today in 324 Agricultural Sciences and Industries Building. Gary Perdew of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will host the speech, "Regulation of the Aryl-Hydrocarbon-Receptor Protein Levels and Signal-Transduction Pathways."

Dan Christensen of the University of Western Ontario will speak at 10 a.m. today in 320 Whitmore Laboratory. The Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos will host the event, titled "Computations Involving Spin Networks, Spin Foams, Quantum Gravity, and Lattice-Gauge Theory."

John K. Brennan of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory will speak at 10 a.m. today in 301 Steidle Building. The Department of Materials Science and Engineering will host the event.

The Department of Mathematics will host a speech, "Introduction to KAM-Theory: Part Three" at 3:30 p.m. today in 216 McAllister Building. Penn State's Andrey Gogolev will speak.

Penn State's Plinio Santos will speak at 3:35 p.m. today in 315 McAllister Building. The Department of Mathematics will host the speech, "On a New Notation for Representing Partitions and a Different Way to Count Unrestricted Partitions."

Chunglee Kim of Cornell University will speak at 4 p.m. today in 320 Whitmore Laboratory. The Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos will host the speech.

Penn State's Tim Reluga will speak at 5 p.m. today in 106 McAllister Building. The Department of Mathematics will host the seminar, titled "What is Mathematical Biology?"
