Democratic presidential candidate Mike Gravel, a former Alaskan senator, will not be speaking this afternoon. His wife will be speaking in his place at 2 p.m. in the HUB-Robeson Center Auditorium, College Democrats President Enrique Ortiz said.

Ortiz, who is coordinating the event from a N.C. airport, said he is not happy about the switch after the group paid $300 to book Gravel.

"This is ridiculous. It's a joke," he said. "He could have at least contacted me yesterday or the day before to let me know."
