Witness: Brother's death made me suspect former Lion

Leah Carraway, the sister of slain Penn State student Langston Carraway, testified today that her first reaction upon hearing that her brother was stabbed to death was to look for the man currently on trial for his murder.

"Where's LaVon?" she said she remembered thinking upon discovering her brother's body.

Former Penn State football player LaVon Chisley is accused of first- and third-degree murder in connection with the June 2006 stabbing death of Penn State senior Langston Carraway.

Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira called a combination of casual witnesses and close family to the stand today as LaVon Chisley's murder trial entered its second day.

Leah said she and Chisley had been close, almost like brother and sister, but he changed after returning from a NFL camp in Atlanta, calling him "different" and "weird."

"I couldn't trust him," she said.

Madeira also questioned Mount Nittany Medical Center pathologist Gordon Handte, who examined Carraway's corpse, detailing the 93 stab and slash wounds. More than half were inflicted after Carraway died, Handte testified.
