Long night?
A hangover may not only take a toll on your insides, but it can also impact your outward appearance as well. Symptoms may include swollen, dark-circled eyes and unusually pale skin, among other ailments. Before you go back out in public, there are some products that might be able to help you con people into thinking you stayed in doing homework and went to bed at 8 p.m.
Eyelash Curlers
Need a lift? Eyelash curlers are a great way to really open up your eyes. Use before or after applying mascara.
Splurge: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($18 at Sephora) is "the" eyelash curler, and for good reason. It has an upgraded "mushroom" design that allows for eye safety and optimum curl that no other product can quite match.
Save: La Cross Eyelash Curler ($4.99 at CVS) won't stick to your lashes as you curl. The effect is long lasting and gorgeous.
De-Puffing Eye Cream
The skin around the eye is extremely delicate, and after a wild night out, it needs some therapy.
Splurge: Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Eye Cream with Biospheric Complex ($45 at Sephora) has Vitamin K to reduce dark circles and other soothing nutrients to care for tired eyes. It also tingles when applied, making it an eye-opening experience.
Save: Boots Botanics Moisturising Eye Cream ($13.99 at Target and CVS) has grape extract to hydrate the area around the eyes, reduce puffiness and dark circles. What more can we ask from an eye cream?
Dark Circle Concealer
After an all-nighter of cramming or partying, the next morning you'll be greeted with two black circles under your eyes.
Splurge: Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener ($18 at Sephora) contains light-deflecting particles to disguise even the most frightening of dark bags.
Save: Neutrogena 3 in 1 Concealer for Eyes Corrector ($9.75 at drugstores) is not only a concealer, but also an eye cream and a defense against the sun with SPF 20. It blends well and stays where it's supposed to.
Eye Brightening Shadows
Splurge: Benefit Eye Bright ($18 at Sephora) is a subtle pink pencil that when applied to the corners of your eyes, makes you appear awake and alert.
Save: Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow in Glow Nude ($7 at Victoria's Secret) has a built-in applicator that makes it easy to apply the right amount of this shimmering shadow. Apply lightly on top of lid and line bottom lid to fool others into believing you're conscious.
Energizing Lip Balm
Splurge: Bare Escentuals Buzz Latte Lip Balm ($8 at Sephora) gives you a dose of caffeine with its coffee flavor while adding shine and nourishment to lips with shea butter.
Save: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Rasin ($3.99 at drugstores) is a subtle enough to add just enough color to pale lips. With that tingling sensation that Burt's Bees is known for and a hint of shimmer, this should be in every girl's emergency makeup bag.
A Hint of Cheek Color
Just because you feel like death doesn't mean your skin has to look like it. Try a hint of color for a just-pinched effect that is natural and completely believable.
Splurge: Tarte Cheek Stain ($28 at Sephora) has earned a winning reputation for its ability to liven up cheeks. With eight different shades, all with individual scents like strawberries and cream or apricot, this water-based push-up blush stick is an excellent product.
Save: Revlon Pinch Me Sheer Gel Blush ($8.25 at drugstores) comes in four flattering shades that are as delicate as the lightweight formula.
