UPUA functions similar to communism, alumnus says

Those of us who had the foresight to oppose the catastrophic creation of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) knew that democracy and transparency was a lost cause in Penn State student representation.

From Galen Foulke's boast that UPUA wouldn't be hindered by checks and balances, to Hillary Lewis devising agendas for the assembly like General Secretary Brezhnev dictating to the Politburo, to UPUA now developing a Stalinesque "five year plan," UPUA's dramatic shift away from democratic student representation is unmistakable.

What on earth are they thinking?

Communism is alive and kicking in China, Cuba and even the HUB-Robeson Center.

Here's hoping that folks like Safeguard Old State and their allies in the UPUA Assembly continue to work to make Penn State safe for democracy and shared governance.
