Letter to the Editor
Lottery system would ruin an already efficient policy

I commend the administration on attempting to find a solution to distribute student football tickets. However, the lottery system that had been selected is downright illogical.

Mr. Myford stated that "as long as the demand for tickets exceeds the supply, there will never be a consensus." If you do not feel you can perfect the system, Mr. Myford, why are you messing with an already efficient policy? Why take two steps backward when you personally believe the system can never be fixed? I could write pages about the flaws in the recently proposed system, but we have all heard these arguments before. Therefore, I will make this simple. Mr. Myford, you are asking the student body to try the system before we judge it. If I was a freshman, I may agree; however, I am not. As a current junior, next year will be my last chance to experience the nation's best student section. If the system failed, I would never get another chance to feel this energy and emotion. For a man who already has his luxury box seats, this change is not that big of a risk. Mr. Myford, for us less fortunate, the policy change is an unnecessary risk.
