Letter to the Editor
Administration responsible for less Penn State pride

Is it just me, or does it seem like our Penn State pride is constantly being torn from the students by the administration? Every year, it is apparent the student body is yearning for the pride and traditions that should come with being a part of the Penn State experience, yet we fall short. Our homecoming slogans and football seasons prove our desire to continue this legacy: "Pride in our Legacy," and "We're Back!" are examples of 2006 desperation to experience what our alumni so generously donate to. So what is going on?

When reading about the new student ticket lottery, I was in shock. What good could possibly come out of a random ticket lottery? Less devoted fans receiving tickets? Scalping prices going up and dedicated students losing more money because they want to attend the games? I have been shocked by the steady decline in decade-old traditions with Penn State student government and affairs due to Vice President for Student Affairs Vicky Triponey and others. If we the students want our Nittany Lion pride back, we need to show it. What will we come back to as alumni?

Administration: Stop preaching about "It's our time" and show it. Give the students Penn State back!
