To be honest, I think I would have enjoyed a lottery system when I was attending Penn State. Before anyone gets angered over this comment, let me explain myself. During my five years at Penn State, I did not have season tickets for one season. To attend games, I sold programs that allowed me to watch the games free of charge. This did allow me to watch several games from the sideline near the entrances, as I had free access if I was selling programs.
The reason I was unable to get tickets is the department or office responsible for mailing out ticket requests failed to send me one. I did receive one during my freshman year, but at my own fault, I sent the request probably too late, as it is first-come, first-served. After my freshman year, I had to contact the correct people to send me a ticket request each year following, as they failed to send me one, and of course by the time I received and sent my reply, it was too late. The only other time I received a request in a timely manner was the year I graduated. All I could do was laugh. After four years of me demanding a ticket request promptly, they got it right. Too bad, I was no longer a student and moving to Rhode Island for graduate school. At least with a lottery, I would have a chance for season tickets.
