The border battle with the Buckeyes will kick at 8:00 p.m. ET and air on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. A determination on which network will air the game may not be made until 12 days before the game.
Penn State's 88th Homecoming game, against Wisconsin on Oct. 13, will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET and air on ABC.
Rohanna, Foley named to All-Big Ten golf team
Two Nittany Lion golfers were named All-Conference honorees today by the Big Ten Conference. Penn State junior Robert Rohanna was named a first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection while freshman Kevin Foley was named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year, a second-team All-Big Ten Conference selection and a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
Rohanna and Foley are the sixth and seventh All-Big Ten Conference Team selections in Penn State men's golf history and first since Mark Leon in 2004-05. Rohanna, who was named the Big Ten Men's Co-Golfer of the Week on April 11, has won two tournaments this year. He earned medallist honors at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational in the fall and at the Marshall Intercollegiate in the spring.
Rohanna tied for fourth place at last weekend's Big Ten Championships Rohanna, the only player in the field to shoot under par in the second round, carded rounds of 75-70-76-74 (295).
He recorded seven top-10 finishes this year and finished second in the Big Ten Conference in lowest season-stroke average at 72.40.
Foley is Penn State's second Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year; Dirk Ayers won the award in 1992-93.
Former Lion Logan-El to transfer to Towson
Former Penn State football player Antonio Logan-El confirmed yesterday that he will be transferring to play football at Towson.
The decision, which was made recently after Penn State released him from his scholarship, will bring the 6-foot-4, 310 pound Logan-El closer his Forestville, Md., home. But it was a somewhat orthodox move for a player of his projected status: As a senior last spring, he was one of the nation's top recruits, receiving an estimated 40-50 scholarship offers.
"The idea if I was going to transfer is that I should go closer to home, so I was looking at schools closer to home," Logan-El said.
Logan-El needed to spend some time away from Penn State during the winter conditioning program because of family concerns. At times, though, Penn State coach Joe Paterno questioned his motivation to play football.
Logan-El insisted that he has a good relationship with Paterno and that he's kept in touch with the Lions staff since his decision.
Logan-El said contacted Towson shortly after he was released for his scholarship and developed a good relationship with its coaching staff.
"When we talked it just wasn't strictly football. [They] just wanted to get to know Antonio Logan-El, beyond football, beyond athletics, beyond what you can do on the field. And I really appreciated that," he said.
Franek, Hunter collect Big Ten weekly awards
Freshman Bridget Franek, and sophomore Gayle Hunter have been named Big Ten Athletes of the Week, bringing the Nittany Lion total to six conference award winners this spring.
The distinction is the first of Franek's career, and the second for Hunter.
