My Chemical Romance concert cancelled

Collegian Staff Writer

My Chemical Romance has cancelled its concert at the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) scheduled for tonight due to "severe food poisoning," Bernie Punt, director of public relations for the BJC, said.

Punt said the band had played a show at The College of William and Mary last night, but that they'd gotten sick late last night.

"We had a doctor in here all day," Punt said. "They're not getting any better. There were even members of Muse getting ill."

Punt said it was determined the illness came from a chicken wrap, and that anyone who ate the chicken wrap got sick. Although the band has an open date tomorrow, he said the band doesn't think it can perform tomorrow, either.

Punt said that anyone who purchased tickets with a credit card will be automatically refunded for them, but everyone who paid otherwise must return their tickets to the BJC either by mail or in person.

Although bassist Mikey Way left the band two weeks to spend time with his new wife, Punt said the two incidents are unrelated.
