Penn State students, alum should clean up their acts

Penn State pride? It didn't seem to be widespread at the recent Blue-White game, if you took a look around the tailgate areas after the game. What was widespread was a wake of garbage in every tailgate area that was left behind by Penn State students and alumni, many of whom were wearing Virginia Tech colors. Showing support for Virginia Tech was certainly thoughtful, but leaving a huge mess behind on their own beloved campus was disgusting and inconsiderate to the university and the rest of us who actually bothered to bring along trash bags and made an effort to be responsible and supportive of Penn State. Even our children, ages eight and four, knew enough not to litter.

Next year, it might be nice to show a little Penn State pride by taking along a garbage bag or using a trash can.
