Brown to bring unique guitar to show
Alternative country icon Junior Brown will play at 7:30 tonight at the State Theatre.
Brown is the inventor of the "guit-steel," a double-necked guitar that is both a classic, six-string electric guitar and a steel guitar. Program manager of the State Theatre Joe Apfelbaum said State College audiences have been interested in seeing Brown since he opened for Bob Dylan at the folk legend's most recent trip to this area.
Apfelbaum described Brown's music as being "real" and that "it just hits you directly in the eye."
Tickets cost $26 and will be available at the State Theatre box office at 130 W. College Ave. or online at www.thestatetheatre.org.
