Six Penn State football players may be charged tomorrow for their alleged involvement in an assault at a downtown apartment party April 1, a Centre County assistant district attorney said today.
The attorney, Steve Sloane, said authorities have identified six players who forced their way into a third-floor apartment at Meridian II, 646 E. College Ave. They will announce what charges, if any, will be filed at a press conference tomorrow morning, he said.
Additionally, Sloane said he intends to call several football players as witnesses at the preliminary hearing, in addition to any other students who may have been present.
"I expect to call 40 witnesses at that preliminary hearing, at least," Sloane said. Sports Information Director Jeff Nelson did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
