Students rally for lower tuition

Collegian Staff Writer

About 60 students rallied this afternoon in front of Old Main calling for lower tuition and an increased student voice in the administration.

"We've been without a student voice for a year," Penn State senior Alex Verget said. "Today we're getting it back."

Verget gained attention for walking from Harrisburg to State College last week to protest tuition. In addition to Verget, students heard speeches from Nicholas Genger-Boeldt, UPUA presidential candidate Gavin Keirans, and former UPUA presidential candidate Jay Bunday.

"This is an issue that is going to take all of us," Bundy said.

Verget concluded the hour-long event by leading the students in a "We are…Penn State" cheer.

Organizer Tina Brazil said she was pleased with the turnout.
