Herbstritt's funeral to be held tomorrow

GIBSONIA, Pa. (AP) - The funeral for Penn State graduate Jeremy Herbstritt, 27, one of the people killed in the April 16 Virginia Tech massacre, will be held tomorrow in Bellefonte.

Meanwhile, western Pennsylvania- native Hilary Strollo, who was shot in the head, abdomen and buttocks, returned home yesterday -- hours after being released from a Virginia hospital and a week after the incident. The 19-year-old Strollo needed surgery after one bullet struck her liver.

"Hilary is very lucky," said her fa-ther, Dr. Patrick Strollo, during an impromptu news conference out-side the family's home in Pine Township, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. "We're very happy to have her home and we're looking forward to her having a complete recovery." Meanwhile, senior Kevin Sterne, 22, of Eighty-four, also shot last week, remained in stable condition at a Virginia hospital.

Police: Vehicles vandalized downtown

Two vehicles in State College were reported vandalized early Sunday morning, State College police said.

One resident at 521 E. Prospect Ave. reported that the rear windshield wiper and rearview mirror of her car were damaged and a wreath was taken from her front door, police said. The car at a neighbor's house was also damaged and a bird feeder at the house was ripped down and a compost bin was placed on the roof of the car, police said.
