Vigil to be held tonight in VT honor

For the Collegian

In honor of the lives lost during the Virginia Tech tragedy one week ago, a candlelight vigil will be held at 8 tonight on the Old Main lawn.

The vigil, sponsored by the South Halls Residence Association, is called "Penn State Will Remember." The association invites all those who come out to bring candles. An open-microphone period will be held during which those who attend can read, speak, or sing.

Those who attend are also encouraged to wear orange and maroon or blue and white to show the unity between Virginia Tech and Penn State.

The event has no ending time, as the Residence Association wants to give everyone who wishes to attend a chance to participate.

"It's certainly great that our students are continuing to honor the Virginia Tech community and the victims and families of that tragedy," Penn State spokesman Geoff Rushton said. "It's very heartening to see our students respond like this."
