As a Virginia Tech alumna now in graduate school at Penn State, to see the out-pouring of support for the Hokies has filled me with a sense of pride; and I am writing this now with tears in my eyes, proud tears, for the first time in a week.

This past week has been unimaginably horrible, and I've just felt an overwhelming sense of loss and shock.

I've just felt lost at times this week, not knowing how I should deal with this horrendous act of violence at a place that I called home for many years.

Blacksburg is like a small State College, and there is a strong link between the schools (besides a large number of Hokie transplants like myself).

Today seeing the "VT" in the student section at the Blue and White game has filled me with an intense pride, both as a Hokie, and as a Nittany Lion. Thank you, Penn State.
