Students should support V. Tech during Blue-White

There is currently a movement for all students to wear maroon and orange to the Blue-White game Saturday. I think this is an incredible idea for many reasons. All too often Penn State student fans are criticized for their actions at home and away football games. Yelling at opposing teams' fans, throwing stuff, acting obnoxious, getting into fights -- the list goes on. We do take pride in our team and in our school. That is one of the primary reasons I made my choice to come here. However, to stand back for a second, put your school pride aside and show your respect for a rival team is to demonstrate the utmost respect for a tragic occurrence. Anyone experiencing the current tragedies of Virginia Tech would only be even more grateful for this obvious sign of respect. I support this movement and hope others do too. It is in tragic times like these that you see the true good behind every human being. Go Hokies, and go Penn State.
