Letter to the Editor
Media must be supportive and not criticize V. Tech

The events that took place on Virginia Tech's campus yesterday were tragic, yet there is a very disturbing trend occurring in the media that has been bothering me -- blame. As we find out more information about what transpired in the morning hours yesterday, I've begun to notice that the major media outlets are posting blame upon the school administrators. It's sad to see ignorant commentators and journalists take stabs at the university for failing to prevent an attack no one saw coming. Let me remind them that something like this has never happened before, and mudslinging these questions at the university shows their total disrespect

Instead of unfairly criticizing the university, the media should rethink their own tactics of kicking people when they're down.
