West End plan discussion postponed

State College Borough Council postponed discussion of the West End revitalization plan until Friday's work session, even though two members of council will be absent. The council has had two weeks to research and look over the West End report, which was submitted by Delta Development Group Inc. Discussions will also continue at the May 4 work session.

Former Borough building will be sold

State College Borough Council decided to sell the site of the former municipal building last night in a 5-1 vote. The site will be used to build a multiplex movie theater, a mixed-use building for residential and commercial rentals and a parking lot.

The borough will receive $3.275 million for the property, which will be part of the Fraser Street Complex. Council member Don Hahn voted against the sale of the building last night, saying that council "should have entertained more local bids."
