Service to remember former students

Penn State students who have died will be remembered today in a service held by Penn State's Center for Ethics and Religious Affairs (CERA). The annual memorial service will be held at noon at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center's Worship Hall. Bob Smith, the director of CERA, said the event will remember the 22 students who have died since April 2006.

"We want to remember the students and help their families realize that their son or daughter was a part of Penn State and will continue to be a part of Penn State," Smith said. Three student representatives will read the names of those students who have died, and after each name a bell will ring for that student.

The Penn State University Choir will be performing selected songs, and students will give several multi-faith readings from different religions. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the service.
