Inmates to have preliminary hearing
Three inmates at the State Correctional Institute at Rockview, Benner Township, were arraigned yesterday on drug-related charges, including possession of marijuana and heroin, according to criminal complaints. The drugs were discovered in the inmates' cells and mail, according to the complaints.
Bail for David Martin, 25, Marc Viney, 28, and James Clattenberg, 39, was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing will be held on April 18 at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
Stolen shoe merchandise recovered
State College police said a tip led them to discover merchandise valued between $10,000 and $15,000 that was reportedly stolen from Barefoot shoe store, 130 E. College Ave. The merchandise, which included 111 pairs of shoes and eight watches, was recovered Sunday from a residence on the 100 block of West Nittany Avenue, police said. The incident is connected with inventory loss reported by the store on Jan. 28, police said.
An employee is suspected in the incident, and charges are expected but have not yet been filed, police said.
