Man charged with criminal trespass
A State College man was charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief after allegedly breaking into his girlfriend's house Thursday night while in possession of a knife, State College police said. Manda Jones, 320 Squirrel Drive, returned to her residence at 9:30 p.m. to find that her door, which had been locked, was open and the doorframe was broken, police said.
Jesse Filer, 29, of 363 Park Lane, who she had told to leave her house multiple times during the day, was inside, police said. When he once again refused, she called police and told them he had a knife, according to the criminal complaint.
Prisoner arrested after traffic stop
A New Jersey man was arrested in Rush Township after Pennsylvania State Police, who pulled his car over for a traffic violation, discovered he was a federal prisoner out on parole with $33,000 in stolen credit card debt. Police pulled over Matthew Montrell Condrey, 33, on I-80 after they observed a child standing in the back of the car. Condrey could not produce a driver's license, police said. Police then discovered that he was a paroled federal prisoner who could not leave New Jersey, according to a police report. Condrey was arrested and placed in Centre County prison in lieu of $100,000 straight bail.
Students assaulted by unknown men
Two Penn State students were assaulted by two unknown men early yesterday morning near the intersection of Locust Lane and Fairmount Avenue, State College police said. One victim was treated for an eye injury at Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said. Police said the students were assaulted from behind.
