Letter to the Editor
Students should respect those working on campus

Recently, I have been reading articles in the Collegian concerning the students' current lack of respect observed mainly by the alumni who hold themselves at classier standards. Up until a lone ride on the Blue Loop, I disagreed with this entirely. The bus was empty, besides the bus driver and a man who she was talking with. I sat in the front and overheard a conversation that changed my outlook on what people really think of Penn State students.

Call me a naive freshman, but I thought a Penn State student was classy and respectful in every aspect of their life. According to the driver, the students are generally rude and inconsiderate, "depending on the semester." Is this how you really want someone to think of you, Penn Staters? How hard is it to show respect to the driver? I know that we deserve a better description than that. Please at least say "Thank you" as you're getting off the bus, or even a smile would be nice. "We are" should include students, faculty, and those who make our Happy Valley world go 'round.
