Americana singer performs in series

Americana singer/songwriter Jeffrey Foucault will play at 780 Waupelani Drive Extension for the first time tonight at 8 as a part of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County's (UUFCC) Folk Concert Series.

Playing acoustic and electric guitar, Foucault said he would call his music Americana, although, he said he believes the term is overused.

"Since about 1966 when [Bob] Dylan blew the whole thing wide open, it's hard to fit music into a specific genre," Foucault said.

Fred Voltz, UUFCC concert committee chairman, likened Voltz to an older version of Springsteen. "Imagine Bruce Springsteen a lot of years ago and what he might have been like if he hadn't been so commercialized," he said.

Tickets are $15 and the doors open at 7:30 p.m.
