Group to unite community over coffee

Collegian Staff Writer

As part of Pride Week, Axis, a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender social group for Penn State students, will be sponsoring a two-hour, late night coffee social tonight at Starbucks, 232 West College Ave.

The social will begin at midnight and offer free tall-sized coffee drinks and pastries.

Brian Coulter, president of Axis, said the purpose of the social is to encourage students in the gay community to get to know each other.

"We are trying to bring the community together in a way that hasn't been present over the past couple of years," Coulter said. "Everyone who wants to have fun is invited."

Coulter said that students who want to enjoy the free coffee and food are encouraged to bring a donation for Who's Positive, an HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness student group.
