"All I can say is that I competed against Darryl Strawberry, Andre Reed, Cobi Jones and Spud Webb," he said, referring to the episode, which is called Mascots vs. Pros.
Johnson said he enjoyed meeting and competing against the pros in different events.
"Andre Reed went to one of my rival high schools, so I was giving him the business about that the whole time," he said. "Also, I was a huge Strawberry fan growing up, so that was cool."
Johnson said he encourages his fellow Penn State students to watch the show to figure out who he is.
"A lot of people at Penn State still have no clue who I am, despite taking the Lion head off at the last football home game," he said.
"I had a great time filming the show, and if people who watch the show want to know anything about it, this would be a good show to watch."
Johnson said while he was filming the show, he discovered that reality TV is far from reality.
"Despite the appearance that everything is natural on the show, we filmed every single scene in the show many, many times until it was exactly how the director wanted it," he said. "Even the sporting events had some scripting in them."
Johnson said that although he wants people to watch the show, he would rather it not have any effect on his legacy as the Lion.
"I was only the Lion for approximately five minutes during the entire show; the rest of the time I was myself," he said. "I hope my fans remember me for the enjoyment I brought while I was in the Lion suit, not what I did on some random TV show that I did for fun."
Andy Gnatt (junior-hotel, restaurant and institutional management) said he doesn't think the show will affect Johnson's legacy.
"I feel he will perform well to impress the school," he said.
Johnson said he has no desire to continue a future in the entertainment industry.
"The only real reason I did this show is because Spike contacted Penn State and asked me to come out to LA to film," he said. "I'd be some kind of idiot to turn down a free trip to LA."
Johnson said his experience filming the show was a positive one.
"Playing ball with some pros is something I'd dreamed about," he said. "I can only say I wish I had a chance to go up against the other mascots, rather than events that don't really require much skill and more luck."
