"Each year we decide to put on a number of Faculty Staff Club events, and since March is Music In Our Schools month, that is how we decided to do this," Tammy Homan, faculty staff club manager, said.
Greg Johnson (freshman-saxophone performance) is one of several students who will perform at the Showcase of Student Talent.
Johnson was a featured soloist with Centre Dimensions for the City Lights President's Concert at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh in February.
"[The concert] was cool ... it was huge and the sound was perfect," Johnson said.
He, along with a number of students from the Penn State School of Music, will play in a collection of large and small ensembles through out the evening.
A piano trio will open the concert, followed by a saxophone quartet and a jazz saxophone soloist.
The Hi-Lo's, a 16-voice men's singing group from the Penn State Glee Club, will close the night.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. and guests will have a chance to interact with the student musicians.
A buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. will compliment the concert. The musical performance is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
