After reading "Repetition plagues Nickelback show" by Adam Clair I was cracking up. The first paragraph was hilarious and he was right on.
Nickelback is not that bad of a band, but let's face it, their songs are similar as is their sound. And they are no Zeppelin. When I first heard "How You Remind Me" I liked it. I even bought the album Silver side up."
Then a few years later I heard their new single called "Someday." I'm not sure why, but I kind of liked it too. Then I realized they were the same song.
It is one thing to sound similar or have the same style, but some of their songs are alike. Nickelback is not that great of a band. They are all right, but you will never see them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
And wow, Nickelback had pyrotechnics. So do thousands of other bands. Ever heard of Metallica?
Maybe they should have taken some of that money for pyrotechnics and put it toward writing better music. And what is this I hear from other students that Breaking Benjamin has been compared to Nirvana?
When did that happen and was it a joke? Breaking Benjamin could have opened for Nirvana, at most. And another person said "All one had to do was listen to the audience feedback to know it was a successful show."
I would think the audience would enjoy the show; they are the fans. They wasted the money to go see these bands perform, so I think they would enjoy the show.
I did not attend that concert because you had to pay money to go see them.
So feel free to write back how I don't know what I am talking about because I didn't see the show and I'm not open to other genres of music. All I am saying is that Adam Clair made some good points and Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace are nothing special, and they will not be popular in the distant future.
