Student hit by car; investigation begins

A Penn State student was hit by a car at about 5:30 p.m. yesterday in the yield lane of High Street and East College Avenue, according to State College police.

The accident occurred near Hooters Restaurant, 538 E. College Ave.

Cpl. William Muse said the victim was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center but his injuries were not life threatening. Police did not release the victim's name.

Muse said the investigation is ongoing and Penn State Student Affairs was notified. Anyone who was a witness to the accident is asked to call police at 234-7150.
