This is in reference to Adam Clair's March 5 article, "Repetition plagues Nickelback show." His comments revealed his inability to be an unbiased journalist. All three bands put on a great, entertaining show and didn't deserve the kind of critique he gave. It's perfectly acceptable to not have the same taste in music, but that shouldn't inhibit your ability to judge the performance. All one had to do was listen to the audience feedback to know that it was a successful show. They had the crowd screaming, singing along and jumping up and down. And I don't know why he found it so odd that the bands sounded similar.
It's the same genre of music.
Did he expect country, pop and heavy metal all in the show? Even though it was the same type of music, each band had their own sound.
The use of pyrotechnics in Nickelback's segment was exciting and set them apart as the headline band of the tour.
Adam should expose himself to a wider variety of music before he criticizes another concert.
Perhaps if he took the time to talk to some of the audience members he would find that the majority of the room thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Or maybe The Daily Collegian should find another journalist to cover these types of events.
