University should welcome minority student demands
I find it quite disturbing The Collegian prints borderline racist comments from our peers. Last week a reader mentioned Thon not having an affirmative action problem ("Reader does not see Thon as a racist event," Feb. 23). I found that very offensive considering the fact that many minorities who attend college have excellent high school credentials. Please do not belittle our accomplishments. In response to Chris Mueller's Feb. 26 column, "Methods must change for Caucus to succeed," the Black Caucus demands were clear. Put yourself in our shoes for a day, then you will see why minorities have such demands. Penn State should be more than welcoming with most of these demands considering we choose to attend this school and be a part of a community known for its racism. Cory Carter
