So, some people think Thon is racist? ("Black Caucus confronts administrators," Feb. 22).

First off, I am black. Secondly, I am a morale captain. Thirdly, Thon is not the only thing I am involved with.

The reason why you may not see as many black people or other minorities involved in Thon is because they don't involve themselves in Thon. Thon doesn't discriminate; in fact it is one of the more welcoming organizations on campus.

Thon is full of amazing people who just want to give these kids a chance. It is not about race. It is not about ulterior motives. Thon is pure, and it shouldn't be used as an excuse for people to complain.
