Visiting teams' fans have advantage in BJC

Why are fans of the opposing teams continually seated in great locations that compromise our home court advantage in the BJC? Saturday's game was an absolute humiliation, especially on national television with Illini fans seated directly behind the basket with Penn State fans sitting in the upper deck. This was posted on an Illinois message board:

"According to the Krush leaders, they were on a first-name basis with this guy that was selling the tickets. He was so excited to have a group of 100 alums coming (this never happens for b-ball at PSU), he not only gave them fantastic seats but also promised gifts for all of the wonderful donors."

If this is true, whoever sold those tickets should be fired. If it is not true, the department should feel embarrassed that it got fooled badlyby some students. Also, it is quite frankly a joke when you do the seat upgrade program when half the arena is empty anyway. Let the home team fans sit near the court. When the Nittwits travel to other arenas, we are seated in the upper deck regardless of how filled or empty the place is.

It was obvious that it frustrated the players, most notably Jamelle Cornley. If we are to turn this program around, this is not the way to do it. It needs to start with creating a positive basketball atmosphere for the home team. I will once again be buying season basketball tickets for next season as I as well as many others who support this team. My fellow fans and I hope you can show at least the same support to men's basketball as the Nittwits have shown this year.
