Letter to the Editor
Greek roots reach deep

In response to Chris Mueller's column "Some greeks distort real meaning of Thon," I would like to say a few things. Greek involvement in Thon doesn't just include all the "overly-proud" students who wear their organization's colors throughout the weekend. Many overall chairs, captains and committee members have greek roots as well, myself being one of them. Not only are we proud of our greek affiliations, we also are proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of something as amazing as Thon. On Sunday, you certainly see many different colored shirts with a variety of greek letters on them. I look forward to wearing orange as the last hours of Thon passes. What I look forward to more is seeing every Four Diamonds child happy and carefree throughout the whole weekend. That is the real meaning of Thon to me, and I'm sure if you asked anybody, greek or independent, they would agree. Regardless of the letters on your shirt, Thon will always and forever be for the kids.
