I have had the opportunity as an employee of Penn State working at the Bryce Jordan Center to witness something amazing: the dedication that Penn State students have toward this great cause that is Thon.

I have been aware of Thon for years while employed at Penn State, but I never realized until now the impact that these students and volunteers have on these children and their families.

I was able to see the sore muscles, the tired and weary bodies.

I have also seen the joy of these students, the volunteers and the smiles of the children that they are determined to give hope to.

These children are suffering from many pediatric cancers such as leukemia.

Thon has helped thousands of children and their families who are courageously fighting to find a cure and to ease the hardships that accompany these pediatric cancers.

All of the students, the volunteers, and those who have donated their time, skills and financial support -- you're amazing.

You have been the light in the darkness for these children. You guys and gals are the hope, you are the light, you are the hero for these kids.

You are Penn State!
