Reader does not see Thon as a racist event
This is about to get hilarious. On one hand we have the Black Caucus, a group of activist minorities who will never be satisfied, and on the other we have Thon. I personally cannot wait to see Thon's pretentious self-righteous majority scream, holler and pout about their own greatness in defense to these allegations. After all, dancing is a proven cure for cancer and it doesn't matter what type of people we are the rest of the year in downtown State College. Now to accuse Thon of being obnoxious and irritating is one thing, but racist? If you want to talk about racism, let's get serious. The self-segregation of the minority community with events like Mr. Black Penn State does more to spur racist feelings than the apparent lack of minorities involved in Thon. If you as a minority want to get involved, do it. Thon is not a whites-only event. Just because Thon doesn't have an affirmative action program does not make it racist. You might have to do some of that "hard work" our favorite Thonites are always boasting about. Adam B. Smith
