There seems to be quite a bit of confusion as to what actually takes place in Thon.

For years Thon has been open to any organization that is willing to participate. Greek and non-greek organizations alike sponsor families and become intricately involved in their lives.

At any point in time, did anyone see an organization's total on their hoodie or T-shirt? Absolutely not. Criticizing anyone for taking pride in their organization is hypocritical; you could make the same argument about students wearing Penn State gear.

Shouldn't they be here for the noble cause of getting an education? Why do they need to boast about how great their institution is? And if students believe that Thon is just another excuse for greeks to hook up, then they are seriously troubled and misinformed.

As much as some students refuse to accept it, Thon is real, and so are the honest intentions of those who participate.
