Five football players invited to Combine
Five Penn State football student-athletes instrumental in helping the Nittany Lions earn a 20-5 record the past two seasons have been invited to participate in the National Football League's Scouting Combine, which begins Thursday in Indianapolis.
The Feb. 22-27 event will be held at the RCA Dome.
All-America defensive tackle Jay Alford, two-time All-America tackle Levi Brown, 2007 Outback Bowl and Senior Bowl MVP Tony Hunt, two-time All-America and Academic All-America linebacker Paul Posluszny and Academic All-America defensive end/linebacker Tim Shaw are scheduled to participate in the Combine.
Brown, Hunt and Posluszny helped the North team to a shutout victory in the Senior Bowl, while Alford and Shaw participated in the Hula Bowl last month.
The NFL Draft is April 28-29.
