This is the most sickening column I've read so far in the Collegian. I am a member of a sorority and was on a morale committee for Thon. I actively canned and solicited as much as I could for Thon in the freezing cold . All I would tell everyone is that we were doing it for Dylan and Craig, our amazing Thon children. Craig is now 17 years old, and his mother wrote us a tearjerking letter about how greek life in Thon is so amazing and how she wants to take Craig out of the Four Diamonds Fund because she wants other children to experience our amazing support and dedication. The Collegian is infamous for demeaning greek life and everything it represents, and now this column tries to take away the one thing that we are most proud of. Let's not forget that Thon is called the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. We by far raise the most money, and why can't we be proud of ourselves for doing so? Our T-shirts and away messages give us more pride in Thon for taking all those hours from our life to raise money FTK. Also, every greek organization loves its Thon children. My organization went to Dylan's birthday party and played with Dylan all weekend. So please, next time someone wants to give their opinion on greek life, try not to be so cliche and maybe try and form an opinion that is intelligent. Dancing in Thon is hard no matter who you are. I would also like to congratulate ATLAS for raising all the money they did independently. Chris, get a grip, and stop being spiteful to the organizations that make Thon what it is.
