This letter is in response to Chris Mueller's ridiculous column on Thon ("Some greeks distort real meaning of Thon," Feb. 19). I'm actually astonished that the Collegian allows this ignorant moron to write for them. I went to Penn State and I've always been involved in Thon, and I'm not Greek. I think the frats and sororities put hard work into raising money for Thon. It's always been a competition to raise more money and exceed the goals from the year before. It's the pride of these groups that continue to allow Thon to break records each year. Thon is for the kids, but without these organizations working hard, there is no way they could raise the money they do. I'd just like to congratulate everyone who participated in Thon, especially the frat and sorority members who've worked so hard. If people want to make sweatshirts to display pride for raising money for Thon, they should. They've achieved great things and self-promotion helps perpetuate the cause.
